This exhibition explores the life stages of writer Ana María Matute through objects, books, letters, photos, and drawings, accompanied by her voice. It invites visitors to listen at each stop, paying tribute to her stories, invention, and creativity. Born in Barcelona in 1925, Matute is regarded as one of the most personal voices in post-war Spanish literature. Recognized nationally and internationally, her career was marked by a mysterious need to invent stories. She wrote her first tales at five and her first novel, 'Pequeño teatro', at seventeen, which later won the Premio Planeta, marking the start of a precocious and successful career. Matute also received the Premio Nadal (1959), the Premio Ciudad de Barcelona (1995), the Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas (2007), and the Premio Cervantes (2010), among others. Curated by Mari Paz Ortuño Ortín. Organized by Instituto Cervantes and the Ministry of Culture, DG Book, Comic, and Reading, in collaboration with Barcelona Libraries and Agencia Balcells.
