Cycle 'Looking at the Sky': Talk on Women's Contributions to Astronomy

Although we now know many women who have contributed to the science of astronomy, do we know what each of them did? Can we place them in their historical context? Why did they not receive the same recognition as their male counterparts? What merits have been ignored? We will take a historical journey through the most significant women in astronomy, from Hypatia of Alexandria to astrophysicist Mariona Badenas. Led by Montse Ribell, amateur astronomer and technician at the Sabadell Astronomical Association.
