Led by historian César Lorenzo Rubio and former political prisoner Carlota Falgueras, the discussion will explore the experiences of thousands of women incarcerated for common crimes, as well as those detained for political reasons during a repressive regime. This event highlights the harsh realities faced by female inmates, many of whom were subjected to intense oppression by religious authorities. The presentation draws on testimonies from over forty women, shedding light on their stories and the socio-political context of the time.
