Concert: 'Eight Strings Across Two Centuries'
This concert, featuring the OCTET DE LA JOSB, showcases a unique program that journeys through the works of two young composers, Felix Mendelssohn and Dmitri Shostakovich, whose lives and music span a century. Despite being separated by time, both composers chose the chamber octet as a means to express themselves at a youthful age of just 16. The performance highlights the evolution of musical styles, from the romantic optimism of the 19th century to the modern disillusionment of the 20th century, acting as both a temporal bridge and a reflective mirror on the changing landscape of music.
