Comic Contest of Nou Barris

The Nou Barris Comic Contest has become one of the most recognized comic competitions in Barcelona over its 24 years of history. It is unique for not having an age limit, making it accessible for comic enthusiasts of all ages to participate. The contest opens every year from February to May and culminates in an awards ceremony and an exhibition of all submitted works in early June. The initiative is supported by various organizations, professionals, and publishers, enriching both the activities and the prizes of the contest. Initially launched in 2000, it was first organized by the now-defunct Porta-Sóller municipal center. Since 2013, the Can Verdaguer Civic Center has taken over as the organizing entity, with the primary aim of fostering and promoting new artistic talent in the comic industry, providing a platform for emerging artists to showcase their work.
