The book 'From Penedès to Nazi Extermination Camps' aims to regain the life stories of individuals from the Penedès region who, fleeing from Francisco Franco's regime, were deported to Nazi extermination camps. It sheds light on the experiences of various persecuted groups, including Jews, LGBTQ+ individuals, Roma, communists, socialists, and Spanish Republicans, emphasizing the personal trajectories that often get lost in the anonymity of history. Through a collective memory approach, this work seeks to acknowledge the resilience and resistance of those who suffered, highlighting their commitment to fighting against fascism.
