Art. This exhibition revisits Tàpies' work based on ideas from his early production. Centering on Tàpies as a pivotal figure, the exhibition maps a network of relationships among agents, discourses, and practices around two axes: the intricate assimilation of artistic currents like Dada and Surrealism and thoughts like psychoanalysis and Marxism in post-war Barcelona, and the dialogue established by these movements with various forms of vernacular tradition and popular culture. The display focuses on material from the early 1940s to the mid-1950s, suggesting continuities and ruptures through the following decades, and includes aesthetic objects from various origins to expand Tàpies' genealogies.
