The 'Al Voltant del Piano' concert series places the piano at its heart, both physically and symbolically, to create an intimate atmosphere that invites attentive listening. Curated by Mercè de la Fuente, the series includes three distinct concerts. The first features Lia Sampai and Gerard Morató on February 7, showcasing intimate songs that blend personal and social narratives through their harmonious interplay. Following on March 21, Sambach presents a combination of song and storytelling, revealing real-life experiences from both sides of the Atlantic in the first half of the 20th century, focusing on themes of exile, longing, love, and revolution. Finally, on April 11, the theatrical performance 'Patas Arriba Alta' combines elegant piano compositions by Izaskun Barbàrie with the raw poetry of Gemma Almagro, paired with a sharp and tender monologue that challenges the audience’s perceptions.
