32nd Barcelona Independent Film Festival 'L'Alternativa 2025'

The Barcelona Independent Film Festival, L'Alternativa, reaches its 32nd edition this year. For over six decades, it has provided citizens and professionals with a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that promote creative independence, diversity, innovation, freedom, commitment, and reflection. This year, we are returning with a hybrid edition: in-person screenings and activities from November 13 to 23, 2025, and a selection of films from the 32nd edition available on Filmin for 15 days in January 2026. L'Alternativa features three competitive sections: Official, National, International Feature Films, and International Short Films. Additionally, L'Alternativa Paral·leles presents tributes, premieres, works from lesser-known cinematographies, and family programming. The festival also offers free and diverse programming, screenings, performances, and discussions at the CCCB Hall. Furthermore, L'Alternativa Activitats proposes seminars, masterclasses, author discussions, round tables, performances, and creative workshops for children and adults. L'Alternativa PRO organizes days, workshops, masterclasses, meetings, and Cinema Pendent, a series of activities supporting the development of audiovisual and film projects.
